Nancy Rushing

Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

Nancy Rushing blends neurodivergent lived experience, somatic wisdom, and therapeutic structure to help couples rebuild after betrayal.

With calm clarity and sensory-aware tools, she meets partners where they are—no eye contact required, just real connection.

Neurodivergent and Trauma-Informed From the Inside Out

As someone who is both autistic and ADHD—and a Highly Sensitive Person—I know firsthand how overwhelming it can be to face relationship trauma with a nervous system that already runs hot.

When you're neurodivergent, betrayal or emotional rupture doesn’t just hurt emotionally—it can feel like a full-body shutdown. Your brain might race, your words might vanish, and every sound or facial expression might feel like too much. I’ve been there.

That personal experience shaped how I practice therapy. I understand what it’s like to need extra time to process, to feel misunderstood by traditional therapy models, and to crave safety that honors your unique wiring.

My approach is built for neurodivergent nervous systems. I slow things down, reduce sensory overload, and offer structure without pressure. Whether it’s a disclosure, a conflict, or a moment of reconnection, I’m here to help you move through it—not by overriding your neurodivergence, but by working with it.

Guiding You Through the Seven Steps
  1. Crisis Safety – Sensory‑soothing plans, designed to support people with highly sensitive nervous systems.

  2. Comprehensive Disclosure – Screenshots, financial transparency, and scheduled pauses for regulation.

  3. Root‑Cause Mapping – Untangling ADHD impulsivity, autistic monotropism, and perfectionism from betrayal choices.

  4. Deep Empathy Work – Music and body movement for partners who struggle with spoken emotion; impact statements for the detail‑oriented.

  5. Ownership in Plain Sight – Behavior contracts, daily checklists, and mindfulness logs.

  6. Sustainable Change – Executive‑function hacks, co‑regulation scripts, and relapse‑prevention circles.

     7. Commitment 2.0 – A relationship charter covering routines, flexibility rules, and how   to flag overwhelm before it explodes.

Session Vibe:
  • I weave Eastern mind‑body practices with evidence‑based talk therapy.

  • Bilingual support (English & Mandarin) available for disclosures or partner letters.

  • You’ll leave every meeting with a tangible tool—no theory without action.
